Welcome to the website of the
Madderty Community Association
Madderty Community Association (MCA) is a charity which manages Madderty Hall for the benefit of the residents of the parish of Madderty.
Our main purposes are to advance public participation in sport, to provide recreational facilities, or the organisation of recreational facilities, to advance education and the arts, heritage and culture and to foster and promote citizenship and community development.
By clicking on the page links on the top bar you can find out more about the hall, its facilities and how to hire it for your own event. You can check on forthcoming activities, see pictures of recent activities and find out whom to contact for more information. There is also a page showing the location of the hall and driving directions from anywhere you choose. Finally we have a page showing any local links that might be of interest. There is also a link on the Contacts page for you to give any feedback or ask any questions about this website which is maintained by the community association for the benefit of everyone.
The Annual General Meeting of Madderty Community Association will be held at the hall (in line with regulations)
on Tuesday 15th September at 8.00 p.m. Please wear a mask. You are welcome to bring your own refreshments but unfortunately we cannot provide these under the current regulations.
It is planned that the hall will re-open for regular activities and bookings from Monday 14th September. There will, however, be strict restrictions on its use in line with the Scottish Government’s Covid-19 regulations.
Activities that we hope to be able to recommence over the coming weeks will include badminton, the popular upholstery and exercise classes as well as weddings. Children’s parties for under 12s will also be bookable.
Please don’t expect things to be “normal”. Anyone booking a room or the main hall for a private event will have to carry out a risk assessment (guidance will be offered). They will also have to accept additional terms and conditions that will impose an obligation to conduct the event in line with the Covid-19 regulations in terms of factors including numbers attending, physical distancing, mask wearing, sanitation and hygiene.
In general if you book a room or the main hall for an event, unless by special arrangement, you will find all the other rooms, including the kitchen, locked. This is to help keep cleaning costs down and maintaining Covid-19 free conditions in areas not immediately required. You will also find that only the hard plastic chairs are available instead of the usual green fabric covered chairs.
If you are thinking of making a booking for the hall and you believe that your event meets the regulation’s permitted activities then please do not be put off contacting us to discuss your requirements. The hall management will be working hard to make it as easy as possible for you to comply with the regulations and will be organising regular deep cleaning and sanitation between events.
Anybody wishing to hire the hall in these circumstances will require to agree to special terms and conditions related to Covid-19. A copy of these can be downloaded from the link below:
Check out the Future events page to see details of forthcoming public events at the hall.
